Meisei&#8217;s technology has been consistently supporting the histories of meteorological observation and Space development in Japan.<br>We will continue to be involved in epoch-making projects through development of innovative products and systems.\r\n    <\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"tab_area\">\r\n    <ul class=\"flex inside_space inner\">\r\n        <li class=\"active\"><a class=\"tab_btn\" href=\"\">Journey<\/a><\/li>\r\n        <li><a class=\"tab_btn\" href=\"\">History<\/a><\/li>\r\n    <\/ul>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"page_area first_area active\">\r\n    <div class=\"section_beige section_history\">\r\n        <div class=\"inner flex_s\">\r\n            <div class=\"section_history_txt_wrap\">\r\n                <div class=\"section_history_txt_top\">\r\n                    <div class=\"section_history_age anm_mod anm_left\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/english\/wp-content\/themes\/meisei\/img\/aboutus\/history-section-history-img-01.png\" alt=\"1930\u5e74\u4ee3\"><\/div>\r\n                    <p class=\"section_history_ttl anm_mod anm_right\"><span class=\"age_txt\">1939<\/span><br>Meisei developed its first radiosonde.<\/p>\r\n                    <p class=\"section_history_txt anm_mod anm_right\">\r\n                        Meisei received the first order of 1,000 radiosondes. Three types of sondes were manufactured to measure cloud, wind, and temperature &#038; humidity.\r\n                    <\/p>\r\n                <\/div>\r\n                <div class=\"section_history_txt_bottom\">\r\n                    <div class=\"section_history_age anm_mod anm_left\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/english\/wp-content\/themes\/meisei\/img\/aboutus\/history-section-history-img-02.png\" alt=\"1940\u5e74\u4ee3\"><\/div>\r\n                    <p class=\"section_history_ttl anm_mod anm_right\"><span class=\"age_txt\">1948<\/span><br>Radiosondes were delivered to the Central Meteorological Observatory.<\/p>\r\n                    <p class=\"section_history_txt anm_mod anm_right\">\r\n                        Meisei developed &#8220;CMO-S48B code sending type radiosonde,&#8221; adopting the then innovative digital method. This product was delivered to the Central Meteorological Observatory and contributed to the establishment of reputation as &#8220;Meisei renowned with sonde&#8221;.\r\n                    <\/p>\r\n                <\/div>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n            <div class=\"section_history_img anm_mod\">\r\n                <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/english\/wp-content\/themes\/meisei\/img\/aboutus\/history-section-history-img-03.png\" alt=\"1950\u5e74\u88fd CMO-S49B\u578b\u7b26\u53f7\u5f0f\u30e9\u30b8\u30aa\u30be\u30f3\u30c7\">\r\n                <p>CMO-S49B code sending type radiosonde made in 1950<\/p>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n    <div class=\"section_history\">\r\n        <div class=\"inner flex_s\">\r\n            <div class=\"section_history_txt_wrap\">\r\n                <div class=\"section_history_txt_top\">\r\n                    <div class=\"section_history_age anm_mod anm_left\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/english\/wp-content\/themes\/meisei\/img\/aboutus\/history-section-history-img-04.png\" alt=\"1950\u5e74\u4ee3\"><\/div>\r\n                    <p class=\"section_history_ttl anm_mod anm_right\"><span class=\"age_txt\">1952<\/span><br>A weather robot was delivered to the Central Meteorological Observatory.<\/p>\r\n                    <p class=\"section_history_txt anm_mod anm_right\">\r\n                        Meisei&#8217;s radio technology realized unmanned observation of  precipitation, which would replace the conventional manned observation in meteorological stations, and made it possible to observe precipitation in mountainous areas as well. \r\n                        <\/p>\r\n                <\/div>\r\n                <div class=\"section_history_txt_bottom\">\r\n                    <p class=\"section_history_ttl anm_mod anm_right no_margin\"><span class=\"age_txt\">1955<\/span><br>Japan&#8217;s first electric instrument <br>launched by a rocket.<\/p>\r\n                    <p class=\"section_history_txt anm_mod anm_right\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\tMeisei developed and delivered an FM-FM telemeter transmission system for the \u201cBaby-T rocket\u201d in 1955. These rocketsondes were launched from the meteorological rocket observation center in Ayasato, Sanriku-cho (present Ofunato-shi), Iwate Prefecture. A total of 1,119 sondes had been launched by March 2001, when the rocket observations were ended.\r\n                    <\/p>\r\n                <\/div>\r\n                <div class=\"section_history_txt_bottom\">\r\n                    <p class=\"section_history_ttl anm_mod anm_right no_margin\"><span class=\"age_txt\">1969<\/span><br>Meisei&#8217;s instruments were employed<br>by the Winter Party<br>of the 11th Japanese Antarctic<br>Research Exploration.<\/p>\r\n                    <p class=\"section_history_txt anm_mod anm_right\">\r\n                        Meisei&#8217;s instruments played an important role in the observation of Aurora Polaris by rocket or balloon in the Antarctica from 1969 until 1985 ( for 16 consecutive years ), when the rocket experiments officially completed, and Meisei involved in all Aurora Polaris&#8217; observations.\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n                <\/div>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n            <div class=\"section_history_img anm_mod\">\r\n                <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/english\/wp-content\/themes\/meisei\/img\/aboutus\/history-section-history-img-07.png\" alt=\"\u5357\u6975\u89b3\u6e2c\u8d8a\u51ac\u968a\u306b\u3088\u308b\u5927\u6c17\u7403\u3067\u306e\u30aa\u30fc\u30ed\u30e9\u89b3\u6e2c\">\r\n                <p>Aurora Polaris observation using balloons <br>by the Winter Party of the Japanese Antarctic Research Exploration<\/p>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n    <div class=\"section_history wide_margin\">\r\n        <div class=\"inner flex_s\">\r\n            <div class=\"section_history_txt_wrap\">\r\n                <div class=\"section_history_txt_top\">\r\n                    <div class=\"section_history_age anm_mod anm_left\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/english\/wp-content\/themes\/meisei\/img\/aboutus\/history-section-history-img-08.png\" alt=\"1970\u5e74\u4ee3\"><\/div>\r\n                    <p class=\"section_history_ttl anm_mod anm_right\"><span class=\"age_txt\">1974<\/span><br>AMeDAS (Automated Meteorological<br>Data Acquisition System)<br>was delivered to JMA.<\/p>\r\n                    <p class=\"section_history_txt anm_mod anm_right\">\r\n                       \u201cAMeDAS\u201d is a meteorological instrument that became popular among Japanese people with its simple and easy-to-understand name. This unmanned observation system was deployed at 1,300 locations throughout Japan to observe precipitation, wind direction, wind velocity, temperature, and solar radiation.                    <\/p>\r\n                <\/div>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n            <div class=\"section_history_img anm_mod\">\r\n                <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/english\/wp-content\/themes\/meisei\/img\/aboutus\/history-section-history-img-09.png\" alt=\"\u753b\u50cf\u672a\u5b9a\">\r\n                <p>\u201cAMeDAS\u201d<\/p>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n    <div class=\"section_beige section_history\">\r\n        <div class=\"inner flex_s\">\r\n            <div class=\"section_history_txt_wrap\">\r\n                <div class=\"section_history_txt_top\">\r\n                    <div class=\"section_history_age anm_mod anm_left\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/english\/wp-content\/themes\/meisei\/img\/aboutus\/history-section-history-img-10.png\" alt=\"1980\u5e74\u4ee3\"><\/div>\r\n                    <p class=\"section_history_ttl anm_mod anm_right\"><span class=\"age_txt\">1982<\/span><br>Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI)<\/p>\r\n                    <p class=\"section_history_txt anm_mod anm_right\">\r\n                        Meisei contributed to the development of &#8220;VLBI&#8221;, which observes radio sources of stars with a radio telescope for ultrawide measurement. Seismic intensity measurement achieved a great progress from the conventional somatosensory method. Seismic information captured by the Seismic Intensity Meter is transmitted through telecommunication lines, and promptly delivered to the population through TV and other media thus contributing to the rapid deployment of emergency and rescue teams in the initial stage of earthquakes.                    <\/p>\r\n                <\/div>\r\n                <div class=\"section_history_img anm_mod tb_sp_show\">\r\n                    <div>\r\n                        <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/english\/wp-content\/themes\/meisei\/img\/aboutus\/history-section-history-img-13.png\" alt=\"Seismic intensity meter\">\r\n                        <p>Seismic intensity meter<\/p>\r\n                    <\/div>\r\n                <\/div>\r\n                <div class=\"section_history_txt_bottom\">\r\n                    <p class=\"section_history_ttl anm_mod anm_right no_margin\"><span class=\"age_txt\">1994<\/span><br>Tsunami earthquake observation<br>instruments were delivered to JMA.<\/p>\r\n                    <p class=\"section_history_txt anm_mod anm_right\">\r\n                        In light of the lessons learnt from the disastrous experiences in the Nihonkai-Chubu Earthquake and Southwest-off Hokkaido Earthquake (Okujiri Earthquake), Meisei&#8217;s tsunami earthquake observation instruments were deployed at 182 locations throughout Japan in order to detect earthquakes which may cause Tsunami as early as possible.
