National Research and Development Agency Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) launched the Innovative Satellite Technology Demonstration-2 aboard the fifth Epsilon Launch Vehicle (Epsilon-5) from the JAXA Uchinoura Space Center. The launch proceeded on time at 9:55 a.m., (Japan Standard Time, JST) November 9, 2021.

The Innovative Satellite Technology Demonstration-2 consists of nine satellites: “RApid Innovative payload demonstration SatellitE 2 (RAISE-2)”, 4 microsatellites and 4 CubeSats. Meisei Electric has developed a low-cost and high-performance On-Board Computer (OBC) utilizing consumer components in collaboration with Vietnam National Space Center (VNSC). OBC has been installed on the 3U CubeSat “NanoDragon” for on-orbit demonstration.

The Epsilon Launch Vehicle is also equipped with a Power Sequence Distribution Box (PSDB) and a Hot Gas Valve (HGV) motor controller that we developed.
