Our employee registered as the Principal Investigator (PI) of a joint research project with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and the Earth Observation Research Center (EORC) gave a presentation on research achievements at the Joint PI Meeting held online on January 12–21.

The Joint PI Meeting also serves as an occasion for reporting on Japan’s achievements to overseas research organizations such as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Fiscal 2021 was the final year of the three-year-long 2nd Research Project on Earth Observations, and the briefing was held as the culmination of the project. The employee presentation featured, among other accomplishments, observational data acquired by POTEKA, which helped identify technical features that made it difficult to verify data believed to be equipped by Earth Observation satellites.

The employee also gave a presentation at the GPM and Satellite Simulator Research Meeting, which was held online on March 3 and 4 by JAXA and the Institute for Space-Earth Environmental Research of Nagoya University.

MEISEI will continue to help develop scientific technologies for meteorology, disaster prevention sciences and satellite observation.
